Dr. Chen is now working in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST). He also served as the deputy-director of Key Laboratory of Meteorological Disaster (KLME) of Ministry of Education, NUIST. He got both his master (1998) and PhD (2002) degrees in meteorology from Nanjing Institute of Meteorology. And he joined NUIST faculty in 1998. During April, 2005 - March, 2007, He worked as a postdoctoral fellowship in Prof. Robert E. Dickinson’s group at Atlanta, the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interests mainly include land/biosphere-atmosphere interactions, land surface processes and its climate feedback, land surface parameterizations, land surface modelling and climate simulation as well as terrestrial carbon cycle and vegetation dynamics modelling. He also works on the development of multi-decadal global land surface datasets based on multi-land-model ensemble simulation, and climate change/variability induced by the land surface conditions, especially by the anomalous soil moisture, snow cover, vegetation cover changes and land surface hydrological cycles.
